Hey… I’m starting lessons for electric guitar this week.
I’m trying to find a guitar to buy, preferably a set because it has everything.
So far, my list has:
Squire SSS Strat pack (Frontman 15G amp)
Ibanez -model unknown- (Ibanez amp… kinda cheap)
Washburn WI14 (with Peavy Solo amp)
Epiphone Les Paul Special II pack
I’ve gone to guitar center, the place I’m gna take lessons, and looked on craigslist. So far, I like the Squire, though the Ibanez is only $125… but the amp is kinda cheap… so I’m not quite sure. The Epiphone has a good price, but when I went to Guitar Center… it didn’t sound all that great.
What do you think is the best beginner guitar set here that will probably last me for a while as I get better?
Any recommendations for other packs will be kindly accepted.
Thanks!

get a stratocaster ive been playin 4yrs and their cheap and reliable for beginers
I agree with Brandon. It’s a sturdy beginner guitar. The amps it pretty versatile and very good for a beginner amp.
Avoid the Ibanez and Epi. Squire strats are good cheap guitars, and Washburns are good if you can pay around $400. Yamaha also makes good cheap guitars if you can find one.
