I’m a beginner and have a Seagull S-6 acoustic and love it. But, I’ve been wanting to expand to an electric guitar, also. I love playing and learning the guitar so I’d rather get a decent keeper rather than a cheap junker for my next guitar. Preferably in the $500-$700 range. Any suggestions on other guitars would be appreciated.

Not if you know how to take care of it and not abuse it. If you are still
working learning finger placement you might what to use a less expensive guitar with low frets and less expensive pickups. The tendency of most beginners is that
they lean their guitars against a wall or chair that is subject to warp the neck and distort the sound and capability of fine tuning. To do this to an expensive guitar is just not right. Use one that is practical to learn on and if it should fall or warps, you do not have as much money tied up into it
unless you’re rich to start with.
well its up to you really, generally the more a guitar costs, the better it will sound (not always) if you want to get a decent guitar to learn on then it is not a crime to spend 500-700 on a decent guitar, just make sure that u will still be interested in that hobby for a while, lol…
